Boyana Aleksova is a Bulgarian artist based in Birmingham, UK. She moved to the UK in 2016 to study Fine Art at the School of Art, Birmingham City University.
Within her practice, Boyana looks into the concepts of identity, relationships and time through painting, photography, and mixed media. In 2019, she has been experimenting with metal and watercolour, creating vibrant abstract paintings.
Aleksova has been involved in an emerging group of Bulgarian painters called The New Masters since 2014. Their goal is to make art more accessible to society by creating group shows and engaging with locals through painting such as public murals.
Her work has been shown in numerous shows in Bulgaria and the UK, including a solo show in 2016, with works acquired in private collections.
