Boyana Aleksova is an award-winning Bulgarian artist based in Birmingham, UK. She graduated from her BA (Hons) Fine Art from the Birmingham School of Art, Birmingham City University in 2019.

Boyana's approach to making art is experiemental, accidental and full of curiosity towards things she does not yet understand, including technical process, scientific knowledge and philosophy. Since 2019, she has been experimenting with the nature of metal and watercolour, in an alchemical approach to creating vibrant abstract paintings, which have the ability to be destroyed by time.

In May 2019, Aleksova was awarded the Jorge Aguilar-Agon Student Artist Award for her painting 'Tribe' No2.

The artist has been a part of a group of emerging Bulgarian painters called The New Masters since 2014, a part of the Fine Art Trade Guild and Extra Ordinary People since 2019.

Her work has been shown in numerous shows in Bulgaria and the UK, including a solo show in 2016, with works acquired in private collections.
